When people go to their every day work at a factory, or even just drive their car to work, they contributing to global warming. The factories produce a large amount of carbon dioxide. In addition, cars release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Both these factors have a major cause on global warming.
When the carbon dioxide is release into the atmosphere near the north and south poles, it causes ice to melt. Many studies have found that when you increase the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, the ice tends to melt at a faster rate. With ice melting, it reveals the water. Water absorbs sunlight because of its dark color. So when the ice melts and water shows, the sunlight directly hits it and warms the earth. The more ice melting from the excess carbon, the more water shows and heats the Earth more rapidly.
